Arduino vs ESP32: Where Should You Start?
Arduino boards are often a friendly first step into electronics and embedded programming. ESP32 adds more processing capability and built-in connectivity, making it especially useful for connected projects.
Start with the learning objective
If the goal is to understand basic circuits, GPIO, sensors and control, a simple Arduino platform can be enough. If connectivity and richer embedded features are central, ESP32 is a strong option.
Think in systems
The board is only one part of the project. Students should learn to connect inputs, processing and outputs into a working system.
The ARCHR STEM approach
We choose hardware based on what students need to build, not around a single favourite platform. The objective is transferable engineering thinking.
